We’re using technology to enhance the quality of life of people with physical disabilities
Our mission
“I’d always had to watch my friends play video games. They’re important to me because I can’t go out and play football like other kids, but now I can – on a computer screen. I can get the same amount of fun as they do, it’s amazing!”
Ben is just one of the hundreds of lives we’ve touched. We use technology to enhance the quality of life of people with all kinds of needs, including stroke and road traffic accident patients, individuals with life-limiting conditions and injured soldiers returning from overseas.
Our mission is to enable anyone, whatever their physical disability, to enjoy video games, leisure technology and communication. But we’re not just doing it for the sake of fun. By giving people the means to participate, we’re kick-starting rehabilitation, inclusion and confidence.
What we do
Everybody’s abilities are different. So we visit people to find out exactly what they want to play, and what they need to play it. We’ll then match, modify or create equipment to lend to them, and give support so they can get the best out of it.
People’s needs change over time, so we’ll go back, again and again, to make sure that those we support keep playing to the very best of their abilities.
We don’t charge for anything we do, and we don’t sell any equipment. We simply aim to do whatever it takes to raise the quality of life for everyone we work with.
Can we help?
We’ll travel the length and breadth of the UK to visit people who can’t make the trip to our Accessible Games Centre in Oxfordshire. And our door is always open to technology companies that would like specialist advice on making their products inclusive to many more people.
There’s no lengthy referral process involved in asking for our help. Just pick up the phone and call us on 01608 810055 or email [email protected]
